As known this web site comes from the realization that our life is in many ways digital.<\/p>\n

But in many cases, out of ignorance or bad faith, it has not been defined as managing our profile.<\/p>\n

What then it is the management of a meeting place immaterial (or rather that materializes from time to time in the tablet, PC, Cellari, … of our friends) in which thoughts, pictures and videos are shared.<\/p>\n

What is a legacy contact?<\/p>\n

A legacy contact is someone you choose to look after your account if it’s memorialized. Once your account is memorialized, your legacy contact will have the option to do things like:<\/p>\n

Write a pinned post for your profile (ex: to share a final message on your behalf or provide information about a memorial service)
\nRespond to new friend requests (ex: old friends or family members who weren’t yet on Facebook)
\nUpdate your profile picture and cover photo
\nYou also have the option to allow your legacy contact to download a copy of what you’ve shared on Facebook, and we may add additional capabilities for legacy contacts in the future.<\/p>\n

Your legacy contact can’t:<\/p>\n

Log into your account
\nRemove or change past posts, photos and other things shared on your Timeline
\nRead messages you’ve sent to other friends
\nRemove any of your friends
\nLearn more about memorialization and how to add a legacy contact to your account.<\/p>\n

If you’re a legacy contact, learn how to manage a memorialized profile.<\/p>\n

Note: You must be 18 or older to select a legacy contact.<\/p>\n

Open your settings. Choose Security and then Legacy Contact at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n
